Mausami Desai is a visiting principal faculty specialist with the Center for Global Sustainability at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy. Her work focuses on coordinating development of the CGS greenhouse gas inventory and analysis for the United States and related analysis to support policy analysis. Before joining CGS, Desai coordinated annual national and state-level greenhouse gas inventory development and related reporting at the US Environmental Production Agency. She also has supported development and implementation of other federal programs such as the greenhouse gas reporting program and supported multilateral processes, such development of international reporting guidelines for national-level greenhouse gas inventories and related climate transparency processes. She serves as a UNFCCC Lead Reviewer for Biennial Transparency Reports. She holds a master’s in public administration in international development from the Kennedy School of Government and a Bachelor of Science in environmental engineering from Northwestern University.
