Our SPP graduate students have an opportunity at one on one professional development with the Policy in Partnership Mentorship Program. Students are paired with alumni experienced in their field of interest. Mentors have generously volunteered their time to provide their mentees with career advice, resume help, networking opportunities, and more.

SPP undergraduate students have the opportunity to be paired with an SPP graduate student for one on one academic and professional development with the Terp-ish Mentorship Program. This program allows them to explore their career interests while learning about different courses and internship opportunities that can help them achieve their goals. This is a great opportunity for mentees to receive advice on networking, resumes, general life guidance, and more.

The Experts-in-Residence Program capitalizes on the School's proximity to the nation's capital by sponsoring weekly visits from experts in carious policy fields. Current students gain exclusive access to the experts for one-on-one assistance with career information, resume suggestions and networking leads.

Career Treks give students an inside look at public policy in practice. These events bring groups of 8-10 students to DC-area organizations to learn more about their role in the policy world, meet policy professionals and tour the office or worksite. Site visits generally last about 2 - 3 hours. Career Treks serve to expose students to employment opportunities and connect employers to highly-skilled, motivated individuals.
