Jonas Siegel is a nonproliferation policy specialist in Argonne National Laboratory’s Division of Strategic Security Sciences and supports nuclear safeguards and nuclear nonproliferation policy studies and engagements. Prior to joining Argonne, Siegel worked as Associate Director of the University of Maryland Center for International and Security Studies at Maryland (CISSM), where he focused on research projects examining the impact of the expansion of nuclear power on nuclear nonproliferation and the proliferation implications of advanced nuclear energy developments and emerging technologies. He also previously served as the editor of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. Siegel holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University Illinois (1999), a M.S. in Journalism from the University of Illinois (2000), and a Ph.D. in Policy Studies from the University of Maryland College Park.
