Five outstanding individuals from the University of Maryland School of Public Policy, including four current MPP students and one MPP alum, have been named finalists in the prestigious Presidential Management Fellows Program. Finalists include CJ Horton MPP ’21 and second-year graduate students Colleen McRann, Grace Pettey, Mary Lorenz and Jennifer Solan.
The PMF Program is the Federal Government's top leadership development initiative for those with advanced degrees in any academic field. Established in 1977, this two-year fellowship program connects exceptional graduate students with dynamic opportunities within the federal government, with the goal of recruiting and cultivating future leaders from diverse backgrounds.
"We are incredibly proud of our students for being recognized as PMF finalists. This achievement reflects their dedication to public service and our commitment to preparing the next generation of leaders who will shape the future of government," said Robert C. Orr, dean of the School of Public Policy.
The PMF Program provides fellows with a one-of-a-kind leadership development experience, which includes a full salary and benefits, stimulating assignments, opportunities for training and development and mentorship. This year's selection process was highly competitive, with 825 finalists chosen from over 7,000 applicants.
