Institute for Public Leadership Announces Inaugural Summer Doctoral Research Fellowship Recipients

The Institute for Public Leadership (IPL) is thrilled to announce the inaugural recipients of the Summer Doctoral Research Fellowship for Ph.D. students at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy. Each recipient will receive a $5,000 grant to support their summer research endeavors.

This fellowship aims to advance doctoral research that significantly contributes to public leadership theory and practice at local, state, national and international levels across various policy domains. A particular focus is placed on projects that enhance public leadership within the state of Maryland.

The fellowship funds will assist doctoral students in progressing their research, whether it involves dissertation work, projects approaching publication or new research initiatives. The goal is to propel their academic journey forward, enriching their scholarly pursuits and overall doctoral experience.

Cullen Merritt, associate professor and research director of IPL, commented, "The inaugural recipients of this fellowship showcase the dedication of School of Public Policy doctoral students to advancing policy and leadership research. IPL is committed to supporting these students and eager to learn from their research as the Institute continues to expand its research program."
