Join Nonprofit Neighborhoods (University of Chicago Press) author and SPP Assistant Professor Claire Dunning to discuss her new book and the future of research and policy related to the nonprofit sector. Professor Dunning and panelists will discuss the ability and limitations of the nonprofit sector to address racial and economic inequality, the construction of a "nonprofit industrial complex" in American cities, the nonprofit sector as a historical product of the 1960s, and the role of history at a policy school, historical methods, and what the past can and should suggest for the present.

Panelists include Ebonie JohnsonCooper (SPP), David Freund (History), and Peter Reuter (SPP). Joshua Shifrinson (SPP) will serve as moderator.
