UMD School of Public Policy PhD Student Xu Han earned the 2019 Marc Holzer Public Performance Symposium Best Paper Award at the recent 2019 American Society for Public Administration Conference (ASPA).
Han’s paper, “The Impact of Performance Management on Civic Participation at U.S. High Schools,” was part of his dissertation. “I could not make it without help from others,” Han said. “I am grateful to Associate Professor Toby Egan, my advisor, for always making himself available to help me tackle the challenges in the study of public management and the application of public management knowledge to serve the UMD community.”
The Marc Holzer Public Performance Symposium, held on March 9 during the ASPA Conference, featured several public management scholars engaging in a lively discussion on contemporary public performance issues and the application of performance management to government and public policy.
