Joannie Tremblay-Boire receives Emerging Scholar award from The Association of Professional Fundraisers

Joannie Tremblay-Boire Spotlight

The Association of Professional Fundraisers honored assistant professor Joannie Tremblay-Boire with their Emerging Scholar award for her research on on nonprofits and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), studying their accountability, internal structure and legal environment.

The APF Research Council presents the Emerging Scholar award to an individual who is emerging as a contributing scholar or scholar-practitioner to the discourse on philanthropy and fundraising.  The award recognizes those who are pursuing research agendas congruent with the mission and interests of AFP and the AFP Research Council, which includes promoting research that informs philanthropy and fundraising practice and disseminating that information to practitioners.

The award is given for a significant body of scholarship or a single extraordinary research achievement and in recognition of potential for future research. As part of the award, Tremblay-Boire will contribute an article on her research to AFP magazine.
