Damien Spleeters is the deputy director of operations at Conflict Armament Research. Spleeters will discuss his most recent publications assessing Iranian drones used by Russia in Ukraine and the supply chains that sustain these capabilities. He has previously written about improvised weapons and component supply chains in Iraq and Syria.
Conflict Armament Research (CAR) is an independent investigative organization based in the UK, established in 2011. CAR field investigation teams document weapons, ammunition, and other related materials in conflict-affected locations and trace their supply sources. In particular, CAR has been tracing the supply chains for the parts in UAVs used by Russia in Ukraine.
