(CANCELED) AmeriCorps and Peace Corps Alumni Panel

Back to All Events

This event has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.

Do you want to make an impact in your community, your country and the world? Come learn about opportunities to serve with AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps at the School of Public Policy's first-ever Service Panel. This event will feature six AmeriCorps and Peace Corp alumni—now current MPP students—who will share what drew them to service, how their service experiences have shaped their careers, and why they recommend these opportunities to fresh graduates. The panel will be facilitated by Susannah Washburn, former senior advisor for the AmeriCorps federal agency and SPP professor.

Panelists will speak about their experiences with Teach for America, National Civilian Community Corps, Utah Refugee Education and Training Center, College Possible, Peace Corps Fiji and Peace Corps Timor-Leste.

We highly encourage undergraduates and BA/MPP students to attend this event.

AmeriCorps volunteers serve with organizations to strengthen communities across the nation. Every year AmeriCorps enrolls more than 200,000 individuals to serve organizations making a difference in communities across America.

Peace Corps Volunteers serve in more than 60 countries, putting their purpose, passion and skills to work in partnership with welcoming host communities. Volunteers live and work on locally prioritized projects, receiving a stipend and other support as you are immersed in a new culture. They build relationships, exchange knowledge, and help transform lives for generations.
