Stephanie Ureña is a Postdoctoral Research Associate working with Dr. Katrina Walsemann (Associate Professor & Roger C. Lipitz Chair in Health Policy), and she is also a Faculty Affiliate of the Maryland Population Research Center (MPRC). Her research examines how social factors shape population health and well-being, with an emphasis on aging, life course processes, health disparities, and Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. A special focus of her research is on the implications of military service for the long-term health of U.S. veterans, which has received federal funding from the National Institute on Aging.
