Director of the Center for Public Policy and Private Enterprise David Mussington was recently invited to speak at the upcoming Journalism Under Fire conference in Santa Fe.
During the conference in November, Mussington will speak on the difficulties of reconciling protection of free speech and association with the desire to restrict hate speech directed at minorities and the integrity of democracy.
“The core theme will be on what the democracies can do, in terms of practical steps, to stay true to their principles while combating disinformation and misinformation,” Mussington says.
The Santa Fe Council on International Relations will be hosting the conference, which will focus on answering the question, “How does technology shape the truth?”
