On May 17, 2024 the School of Public Policy held its MOSAIC event at Thurgood Marshall Hall, a celebration dedicated to the diversity and achievements of its graduates. The night brought together a community of students, faculty and families to honor and recognize the vibrant cultural backgrounds and academic successes of the Class of 2024.

The evening commenced with welcomes from academic advisors Eva Morgan and Hermione Pickett, who set the tone for an evening of recognition and reflection. Following opening remarks, Alana Hackshaw, associate clinical professor and chief diversity and inclusion officer, shared the critical role of diversity and inclusion in enriching the academic and societal spheres, commending the graduates for their resilience and advocating for continued support of inclusive spaces in their future endeavors. Her message emphasized the university's commitment to these values and inspired all present to uphold these principles, wherever their careers may lead.

Keynote speaker James McShay, assistant vice president for engagement, discussed the importance of diversity in educational environments and its role in fostering community and leadership. His address encouraged the graduates to leverage their diverse backgrounds as strengths in their professional lives.

Students Christian Ortiz Romero and Sarah Ahmed shared the experiences and challenges they overcame during their time at the university, offering personal insights that resonated with many, and highlighting the resilience and determination of the graduates.

Noor Tofailli and Rida Aviles shared poetry, Carmen Aviles performed a dance and Sharon Yorms-Brobbey shared songs.
